Very scenic trail. The suggested recording follows the TCT from Two Harbors looping to Parson's Landing to Two Harbors (that's the most difficult part), to Little Harbor, then to Avalon. However, this recording does deviate from the actual TCT in a few spots, making it easier with less elevation gain by following roads. Notably, near Little Harbor and from Airport-in-the-Sky to Avalon.

Straight up and straight down! Amazing views. Try to go a little later in the day so the haze can burn off so, you can see the ocean on the other side of the island. You are exports the sun the entire time so take plenty of water and good hiking shoes.

Hard AF to run it, but super radical also. Make sure and have a crew to fill you at each camp site. I ran it slow, took about 11 hours. From two harbors and around to parsons landing via the isthmus is straight up and straight down almost. Painful.

Did the OG route last year but this new route has some nice changes. Instead of going down the Sheep Chute road to Little Harbor, you’ll go on the Ridge Trail, which was much more scenic. Starlight Beach got cut, which is a bummer because it’s a nice spot and you can say you went from end to end. The start of the trail also got moved from Pebbly Beach to Hermit Gulch. Overall, this is a wonderful thru hike but you should be experienced since planning for it does take some work. The trail is hard no matter what since you’ll have constant ascents and descents. Should definitely be on any backpacker’s list in SoCal.

Challenging but doable with moderate training, especially over 5 days and 4 nights. 3 of the 4 campsites were beach front with spectacular views. The 5th day front Parson's Landing back into Two Harbors was flat, along the coast and with breathtaking scenery.
