this trail is not the Topock Gorge. It winds around around some railroad and pipeline roads between Pirate Cove resort and Interstate 40. it would be good exercise but not much more than that!

Paid $15 for day use parking in the Pirate Cove. Looks like you could park for free up the road a little way at the official trailhead. Hike starts Next to road for 1st part, then train track, then dirt road. No shade ( which was ok for us). Looks like a fun spot for dirt bikes. Kids enjoyed swimming in the river afterwards. Would we hike it again? No - probably not - too many other trails to explore.
