Like Yosemite Valley, Tokopah Valley was shaped by a glacier. This trail leads you under the canopy of pines and firs as you pass an occasional meadow and creek-crossings with a rewarding waterfall at the end.

Just did hiking today. Beautiful place it’s cooler and shaded Rocky Mountain at the end, creek is low in water but it’s not big deal... overall total ... love the place

Beautiful hike! Rocky at the end. Not much water in the falls but beautiful just the same. No bears though, disappointed about that.

Beautiful trail. Winds along the river through a canyon, so nice views throughout. The falls were nearly dry when we went on Oct. 30, but it was still a great hike, not too difficult at all. Definitely recommend.

Shaded and perfect mid 40s weather. Ice at the bottom of the falls. Barely any water, but still beautiful and easy walk

Great easy day hike, beautiful scenery.

Hardly any water but had the trail to ourselves

This was a great hike! I went with my husband and 3 boys (aged 8, 4, and 2). The Boyd were able to keep up and had so much fun.

Great hike, shady. Our 3 year old enjoyed the hike and was able to complete the hike. It can get a little hot for the last 1/4 mile when the trail moves up onto the north side of the canyon wall just before reaching the falls. There are refreshing stops to get close to the stream along the way.

Easy/moderate trail, beautiful views along the way. Just follow the trail and you should be okay. It gets shady in some areas, but the surrounding is gorgeous. There are beautiful meadows of what’s left of this seasons wild flowers. Nice spots to hang out by some water. The best part is when you get to the rocks at the top. Make sure your wearing a good pair of hiking/comfortable shoes. The trail goes on a little longer if you want to go further. That’s the only reason I say it can become moderate. Perfect weather for October.

Great hike. Go early and in spring. October the falls were more of a sprinkle. Great scenery. Short hike.

Gorgeous but busy! We saw a bear!

Great hike on the easy side along a river. The waterfall was still running a little in October.

Beautiful trail. The day we went there were prescribed burns in the general area so there was a light hazy of smoke obstructing the cliffs. We could make them out, but only barely. Even from the impression we got through the haze, we were awestruck by the surroundings. We will be back to see it again on a clear day!

Not much water in the falls

Awesome hike! It’s scenic and beautiful. We saw a black bear roaming through the stream a good way from the trail (still awesome)! We hiked down to the water at spots where there are large flat rocks for swimming. You can climb down to the water from the falls to swim (freezing, but worth it) or climb up to the falls (be careful).

So beautiful! And pretty easy hike- just keep in mind that you’re starting out about 6200 ft elevation. We were just passing through, so, you have to park at the Lodgepole Market Store, if you’re not camping, which adds a little more distance. I’m no good with numbers, but it’s probably an extra half mile round trip to the trailhead. We started around 4:30 pm on a Monday evening, so it wasn’t super crowded and parking was easy. You can climb down to a little pool at the waterfall, but I wouldn’t say it was a breeze to get down there. The weather was in the low 60s, and the water is FREEZING cold. Be careful if you jump in. My bf dove in and said it almost felt like his body went into shock, which is a big deal, in my opinion, cause he’s rarely affected by temperature. Super beautiful and worth the trip! Took about 2ish hours to complete. The mosquitos starting coming out on our way back, and the marmot was out, as well!! :) Please don’t feed him. He was definitely looking to snack.

Good Hike, quick and easy!
