Spectacular trail, definitely on the easy side of "moderate," through a glacier-carved valley to a frozen waterfall. There were quite a few icy spots today, but there was enough sand covering them to be easily passable with care in my trail runners, without microspikes. A couple of bridges, no creek crossings, making it easy in the winter. Great family trail if you have older kids.

Fun and pretty easy hike on well marked trail! Waterfall at the end was not in flow but was still a cool sight as you can see the water frozen on the rocks. Not crowded if you go early! Got there around 8 am and there were only a few people on the trail. Pretty creek and some snow!

Great trail! Kid friendly, well marked, and great views. There is some snow on the ground that makes the hike special. The fall is not running but the hike is still worth it!

One of my favorite trails in this NP. It’s not too hard the most of the trail but at the end there are large granite boulders to maneuver around. This is my 4th time on this trail in last few years in different seasons. The water fall is less but the first snow of this season made up for it.

Beautiful trail with beautiful views. I went in September 2019 and it was fantastic weather, and the waterfall was great. Totally recommend going late summer / early fall.

Easy trail, not to many people and great views. The waterfall is almost no existent right now but the views along the way are well worth it.

Waterfall is only a trickle at the moment but the hike out along the river and the views of the valley make it worthwhile.

Pretty easy hike. The boyfriend and I had been hiking since 6:30am and we got here around 1ish pm so we were a little tired so I’m glad this wasn’t a very difficult hike. There was no actual waterfall but it was still well worth it and the view was amazing.

Nice easy trail. Take your time and enjoy the views. Mellow hike with not to many people. Saw a bear working his way down the hill into the river, that’s always a plus!! PLEASE PACK OUT YOUR TRASH. Sad to see trash and signs of humans out the trail. Don’t be that person.

Very easy trail. Took my 6yr old and teenager. It’s actually a little longer then 4 miles. No water at falls but a nice stream. No shade at the end but the weather was pleasant. A definite trail we will do again for a nice walk.

Nice little hike, with a great part in the forest along the river. The waterfall was a bit shy when I was there but still totally worth it for the beautiful views. All hikers were super kind.

We actually hopped rocks and climbed around on the boulders around the river for most of it. The last bit of the trail to the top we hopped back on the main trail. It was busy on a Saturday afternoon. The weather was perfect in early October, no bugs, lots of trout of all sizes in the river. Nice hike! Easy access from the upper campgrounds/lodge parking.

Very nice amount of elevation gain and not too strenuous. we were fortunate today to have most of the regional fire smoke clearing up allowing great views of the steep cliffs on the second half of the trail. not much water in the river and the falls at the end basically a trickle. still a lovely hike

An excellent trail for beginners, out of shape alcoholics like me and families with kids. Lots of water along the trail with plenty of pools and lagoons to play in. Please be aware of water levels and your own ability. The river is the main cause of death in this park.

We’ve done this trail twice, once in the spring with snow on the ground, and once in the summer. Both times it was fantastic. Not too physically demanding, gorgeous views, and saw several marmots.

Great trail. not too long or short. good variety of terrains. Waterfall wasn't much to see, maybe due to time of year.
