You have to walk a ways down the beach to get to the pools which isn't bad but there aren't a lot of pools so it gets a bit crowded if there are more than 10ish people.

1 hr 45 min to get here from Riverside. NOAA said low tide @ 12:43, left at 1:30, never got to see tide pools good enough to explore. Enjoyed the walk from general parking, decent, clean, and relaxing

Always so beautiful and relaxing

Super easy. The tide pools are pretty once you get there. But the direction have you park near a mexican restaurant, & the first half of the walk is on the sidewalk to get to the boardwalk, which is more sidewalk. From there you can walk on the beach for a while. The tide pool area is really rocky & fun to climb around, but good luck getting any kind of cardio on this walk. It is just pretty & relaxing.

Had a great time with my wife. Enjoy the seals on the beach you can get really close to them.

Not difficult at all. Unsure why it is labeled as so. Nice hike/walk.

gives you a really neat perspective of the ocean and cliffs

A great walk down the beach, not difficult at all so I'm not sure why its considered moderate difficulty. Beautiful scenery with wildlife and kelp strewn beaches. Parking isn't the easiest to find but the walk to the "trail head" is okay.

One of the prettiest beach strolls I've taken. Not challenging at all. Parking however, is. Most spots are 3 hrs free parking. Bring a towel so you can take your shoes off. Especially beautiful at sunset.

The directions won't get you there the end you in a residential location, but keep going down till you find the beach and then (facing the water) go right t to the end of the beach and you will get there. I recommend going early after the tide comes in you can't really get out too far and some folks were having some issues getting back. It's very pretty, not a traditional hike. but definitely worth exploring. your feet will probably get wet mine did, n had to take of my shoes.

I've lived here for 15 years. There are nice tide pools at the north and south ends of the mile long beach. Best when tide is extreme on new and full moons and in the winter. These are very busy tide pooling spots. Please don't take anything from these protected areas. There has been unfortunately a lot of muscle collecting so there isn't the large muscle shoals that there used to be. Lot's of other life though: sea stars often when tide is extreme, hermit crabs, brittle stars, etc. and sometimes sea hares. Dolphins, seals and sea lions often swim by and an occasional bait-ball gets pushed into the shore by all the shorebirds and dolphins. This will keep kids occupied for hours.

La Jolla shores is one of my most favorite places on the West Coast. The tide pools are just north of the Scripps Pier. Usually, you can find all kinds of hermit crabs, birds, sea crabs, anemones, and sea stars here, but the last time I visited there was little wildlife. You can walk north on the beach for hours. Just be aware of the tides - you can get cut off by the ocean at the giant rock north of the pier.

This is not a hike but is a very nice play to walk around and it's beautiful. I walked for hours with my camera. This is just a nice play to relax.

Great short walk with amazing views. No need for walking on the road. Great for the bum as well.
