Thoroughly enjoyed this easy hike in to a fairly secluded camping site at Sulphur Springs. There were a few PTC hikers at camp, so it wasn't completely barren. The campsite offers picnic tables, fire pits, and two bathrooms, which I wouldn't recommend using during the pandemic. The creek right by is nice as well if you need to rehydrate or wash off a bit. The route back is a bit more strenuous, but nothing too difficult. Parking lot is still open as of 4/19/20. *NOTE* There are some downed power lines right at the beginning of the trail, but they are protected and you can easily go under them.

Pros: super gradual incline, cool creek, mix of shade and sun, not too crowded Cons: no destination or view at the end, you save the uphill for the return hike, pretty much the same view the whole time. Tips: Go towards the horse trail when you approach the campground. The hiker trail doesn’t take you to there!

We walked over 7.5 miles doing this trail, not the 6.8 that's claimed. It was a pretty pleasant hike.

A few snow patches on trail. Saw only one couple hiking trail in opposite direction, other than that had the trail to myself. Trail is in very good condition, save for one overgrown section where the scrub oak completely covered the path. Some water trickling at Sulphur Springs Campground. Easy and fun hike.

The trail itself was pretty fun. Parts were still covered in snow and other parts were grown over making it easy to lose the trail in a few spots (which happened to me a couple times). Sulphur Springs Campground was pretty “meh”. Had some snacks at the picnic benches and headed back.

Temps were in the mid-to-upper 30s with still a bit of snow on the ground. A lot of fun in the weather.

Pros: - Nice middle high country views - Lightly trafficked (I only saw one person in 3.5 hours) - Easy to follow (it's the PCT) Cons: - The destination is rather uninteresting (just a campground). If I go again, I'll bring food for a picnic at the campground to make it more worthwhile. Or maybe I'll go when there's snow. This seems like a great trail for snow hiking, as there aren't many steep edges or inclines. Tips: - Avoid this hike when it's sunny and hot -- there's not much shade.

Great hike, pretty easy going in. Slight ascent coming back. Great campgrounds with creek running right through. There’s still water as of June 8 but it’s getting low. The trail is part of the Pacific Crest Trail so you may see a number of thru hikers depending on the time of the year.

This trail was a pleasant surprise. I expected chaparral the entire way but a significant portion of the trail was in pine and cedar woods. We hiked the trail as shown on AllTrails, but my hike details showed more than 1,000 ft of elevation gain and a distance of 7.8 miles. The snow is already gone, there is a small amount of water in the creek, and I expect this portion of trail will feel quite warm very soon. Although the air temperature was only in the high 60s as we hiked, it felt very warm in the sun. The heat will likely be uncomfortable during the summer months. We met many PCT through hikers.
