Easy sandy trail with lots of options to extend the hike. Interesting earthquake features, and horses to say hello to at the top.

This was a great loop, but did not go down to the beach. It crossed the path to the beach. It also had a fun climbing adventure for adults. The ocean fog rolling in made it a perfect temp.

The “trail” begins after the two wire strip gate. I’m not sure if this is an official trail. There is a horse ranch next to the "entrance". Expect to see and smell horse poop through the walk. The “trail“ is basically on cliffs and dunes, which do provide a nice leg/glute workout. The view is nice but the “trails“ are very narrow and at times difficult for just one person to walk through. When you are about to finish the loop and head back up to the parking lot the trail stops at a cliff.. You essentially have to go up to clfif area. Not a huge one, but definitely one difficult to do with dogs during twilight. I had to turn around and go all the way back which wasn’t too bad, but annoying. I recommend taking a left (opposite directions of the trail recommendation), so you start at the "end" to see if you can actually go down that cliff like area. Be careful with the trails that follow the cliffs because there are some parts that are pretty narrow and drop off. Definitely had to be careful with the dogs. And since you’re in Daly City expect fog and a lot of wind

This was actually such a confusing hike. There was a parking lot to park at, but you have to go under the ropes and follow the alltrails map to guide you to the start of the trail. After that, it becomes very single file, heel to toe walking in sand. You almost can't even see the trail because it's a small trail with a lot of ground plants on the side. The view is nice, yes, but you really have to pay attention to the map or else you'll go off trail. I ended up hiking up and down some random hills before I finally reached the parking lot again. I couldn't even find the way down to the beach. It was an interesting hike overall, but it wasn't the best hike for a small group since we had to walk single file the whole time, but it also doesn't seem safe to hike alone.

Beautiful hike along coastal Daly City. I would say accessible to most people but there are a definitely few tricky spots. With all the rain we’ve had in NorCal there are a few spots on the trail that have eroded so watch out for that. Will definitely be back!

Hiking

Easy to locate, free parking although spots are limited, dog friendly. My boyfriend, dog and I enjoyed this last minute hike after visiting family in Daly City. Beautiful views while hiking on the trails among the cliffs below the look out point, or you can walk along the beach. We will definitely be back.

Park and take the trails to the right down to the beach. It's gorgeous and there's lots of options. Pick a different path for the way back up! Very dog friendly and beautiful.

Beautiful scenery with many route options. We ended at 2.5 miles and not the 1.5 listed. We were able to hike down to the beach for easy waking with surrounding dogs.

Really fun walk with my 3yr old with people horseback riding, whales viewable in the distance, tree forts along the way, and the beach at the bottom (getting there is the one tricky part with a little one).

Walking

Beautiful hike along the beach. You get to see horses, ravens flying high into the sky, occasionally people paragliding or hang gliding, etc. There so many little hide outs and hangs out underneath all these branches built like a tent. Totally a great getaway to spend quality time with friends and nature, even a romantic hike with your loved one. There is steepness to it, sandy throughout, narrow, but overall not that difficult.
