A super short (1/2 mile round-trip), but scenic historic hike to an old Native American site located within Anza Borrego Desert State Park.

I did this trail two weeks ago and very disappointed.
As many trails in this State Park, there is not enough indication..We all always loosing the trail, and then people trying to get on the trail, are creating too many trails that we are always lost..A very weak point of this State Park

This is a wonderful cultural site. Easy to access and intriguing to visit and explore. Especially with kids. Don’t miss this one or nearby pictographs and box canyon.

Tranquil trail. Good for flower hunting. Some nice view from the trail end, which requires some bouldering to reach.

Very short walk. Not much of a hike but interesting historical value. The morteros are well-marked. Great for kids or people who can't really hike. Easy access and parking.

This trail is really more of a "nature" trail in length than a hike, but is definitely worth the stop due to its cultural and historic value. Since it's so near the Petroglyphs trail, we recommend combining the two. Its close proximity to Highway 78 and the west end of the park makes it a great little stop on your way in our out of Anza Borrego. (Date hiked: April 12, 2009.)
