Trail views were great, the trail itself was certainly easier than I expected for a moderate trail though. Easy and fun to explore off trail. The wind was very chilly!

Fun hike on the upper section. I would avoid the lower section as it is walking on a flat sandy trail. The upper portion has lots of rocks and is visually interesting. I would recommend taking the North View trail back to the parking area. We did not, but I believe it would be a better hike.

Awesome hike! Not too challenging but some great views and different terrains. The trail was marked very well

In the summee, the trail will get really hot from 08:30 am. It's an easy one if you make sure to get there before 07am. Bring tons of water. Some really nice landscapes and animals (adult kit fox, rabbits, and kangaroo rats) can be seen. The entrance to the national park is 30$ as of sept. 2019.

this is the same Trail where they found the two dead bodies that were shot on a murder/suicide

Nice little trail that has great options to extend the hike. The elevation gain comes in waves so there is no super difficult area.

We went 6/11 at 7:30am before the heat kicked in. Relaxed and easy trail. We saw a fat rattlesnake stretched out on the trail. We did it in two hours but make sure to bring a hat and sun screen because there is no shade and plenty of water.

We did North View and The Maze Loop. It was very nice, we ran 70% of the trail. Very nice views, rocks, we saw two small snakes crossing. Super recomended!

Solid very gentle easy hike. No real finale but Joshua Tree ftw. Only a few parking spots so it seems pretty quiet. No one else there when I was out. Connects to a few other trails to modify your route or length. Goes a good distance from the road which was nice.

Absolutely beautiful. By far our favorite hike at Joshua Tree. If you do only one hike at the park, choose this one. Very quiet and peaceful, away from the crowds. There is parking for just a few cars at the trailhead and we saw only one other couple on the trail. We hiked counter clockwise and the final portion was gorgeous, the perfect end to our visit to Joshua Tree.

Pretty easy loop (plus window rock extension) with some cool rock formations. Very windy when we did it which wasn’t particularly pleasant.

A nice, quiet trail that gives a good feel for the landscape of JT. There are no spectacular views here by any means, but it’s a nice trail to walk, it’s (relatively) well marked, and has quite a few other trails nearby if you’d like to get some more elevation. We did not find it quite as solitary as some other reviews, but your mileage may vary depending on the time of day and season.

Great flat trail. Well marked and the map on AllTrails app really helped to stay on trail. We started around 9am and did not see a single other hiker on the trail. It is nice quiet and peaceful.

This took us about an hour going a slow jogging pace - you never really feel the elevation gain because it’s so beautiful that you’re distracted! Insanely beautiful and highly recommend as a flatter, but just as beautiful mid-length trail!

Our first trail in JT and a delightful one. We started on the south trail and it was a beautiful meander into the backside maze. Must do trail that took about 2.5hrs to go 5 miles. Nothing hard or strenuous about this hike and it has great diversity of view

Great. Combined with window loop and north canyon loop. Didn’t see another hiker in 4hours! Plan appropriately.

The Maze Loop trail is a fun, quick hike, that’s (apparently) become much more well-marked in the past year. 4.7 miles, about half of it you’re walking in sand, and you’re usually in what quite literally feels like a maze. Pretty cool! I did it this morning, and while there aren’t any wildflowers (to be expected in July), it still laid host to gorgeous views, near and far. I definitely want to check out the Grand Loop and North View Trail, either during the Winter or one early Summer morning. As long as you’re following the clearly marked rocks defining somewhat ambiguous parts of the trail, you’ll have no problem making your way around the loop!

Here's my present opinion. There are 3 loop trails that are all contiguous with each other, can be combined to do anywhere between 4 to a little over 8 miles depending on what you want. I have done the whole Maze and North Window loops, and the North Window loop is a better hike than the Maze Loop. I do like very much the "Maze part" of the Maze loop (about 25 % of the loop at it's eastern side), but the rest is less interesting. About 70% of the North Window Trail is very interesting, and we saw more "wildlife" on the North Window Trail (birds, horny toads, 2 desert Tortoises, lizards, and brief view of a fast snake). I have not done the southern part of the "grand loop" (Window Trail) which is probably a better choice than the drab dry wash that is the southern part of the Maze loop. This "Window Trail" southern extension that goes south of the impressive rocky hills of the hike probably adds about a 1 1/2 miles to your hike, but might be worth it. The "grand loop" of all 3 loops is 8.2 miles, and might be your best bet, otherwise I would recommend the North View Trail loop with an out and back through the Eastern part of the Maze (to it's end as it turns west into the endless wash), then turn around and come back through the eastern Maze again, then head west back to the parking lot). Note, if you look, there is one track on Alltrails that is this "Grand loop". All trails are well marked.

Read there was a slot canyon, but not true. Still a decent hike!

My hiking buddy and I were so happy with this trail! It says it’s 4.8 but it’s more like 6 because it’s a little over half a mile to the start of the trail. The trail is mostly flat so it was fairly easy. We went in October and the weather was perfect. There are a couple spots on the trail that get confusing and we had to backtrack a couple times, but if you follow the rock paths people have made you’ll be fine.
