Absolutely amazing. Traveled from Pennsylvania with a few buddies and enjoyed every moment. Red peak pass was still covered in some snow so we have to use nick spikes to come down the other side. Some of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen..

One of the best kept secrets in Yosemite. I've done this hike twice and only managed to see a handful of other hikers. Once in three days (15 miles per day at least) and once over 5 days. Red peak is stunning and can't be beat. Great camping spots along the way so no matter how many nights it's easy to make it work. We started out near glacier point and came back to the valley floor via the mist trail (vernal/Nevada falls). I prefer this way as it is a bit quicker and less trail wear compared to the JMT, be warned of the stairs and crowds though as you make your way closer to the valley.
