Take this short cross-country trek to reach three pretty little lakes in the rugged basin above Boulder Lake. Some easy route finding and minor scrambling over granite and talus slopes are required. Though these lakes are just a stone's throw from busy Boulder Lake, few visitors venture up here. Please note: off-trail scrambling and route-finding skills required for this hike. Free wilderness permit required for overnight visitors. Free campfire permits required for fires and camp stoves. Trails in the Trinity Alps are always open: however, most trailhead access roads are closed or impassable during winter.

Backpacked to Boulder lake then to lost lake/ Found lake, scrambled across the mountain and both my partner and I weren’t expecting what all our hard work brought us too, not sure if around this time of year July 6 2018 was a bad time of year to hike to lost and found lake but we were kind of disappointed, the lake was stagnant and dead bugs all around.. wasn’t worth all the hard work we put into getting there.. our opinions, beautiful views though.. our opinion stay at Boulder lake.
