Great moderate trail. Parking lot was closed but easy parking just a quarter mile past trailhead. I highly recommend doing this trail counter clockwise as the trail is still open in both directions. The actual elevation gain was 945ft and 5.6 miles from the parking location. Trail loop itself was 5.2 miles. The added perk of the sandstone caves was really fun.

Had to park further down and took a longer route which ended up being 5.5mi. Hike was pleasant though, very doable for kids as well

Pretty good trail - the parking lot is closed but there was parking about a quarter mile up the road. It’s on the easy side of moderate - if you’re going counterclockwise, there’s a long downhill followed by a gradual uphill. It’s a bit muddy in parts but otherwise it’s a well kept trail

It was a great hike. Other than the parking lot at CM01 Skeggs is closed I was able to park about 1/4 mile before it at Cm02 which has limited parking but was empty. From there we jumped into the Sierra Morena trail which then connected to Tafoni trail and did the loop. Be careful for Bananas Slugs

21 banana slugs. Beautiful moderate hike. Goes along a stream for the first mile. Parking for it was closed but a pullout a little ways down the road opposite the trail worked fine.

If you’re looking for a fun quick hike this is it! The parking lot is closed but there is parking on the side of the road less than a mile from the trailhead. The hills weren’t too steep and there was families on the trail as well so it’s fit for anyone

Great trail through the forest. Fun going down. Tons of red woods and fast trail walking. Not reall rocky or anything g, nicely worn. Be prepared for good ~mile inclines hike at the end.

Picked this trail at random from the app and thoroughly enjoyed it. Beautiful nature everywhere. Saw a few banana slugs. That final ascent is awesomely challenging. Only complaint is at the narrow areas you almost have to stand in poison ivy to let bikes past. It's a Tuesday so not that busy, but I can imagine it's challenging on a busy weekend. We did this 4 mile hike in 2 hours and stopped both at the sandstone turn off and multiple little stops for pictures and such.

Beautiful towering redwoods. Trail went up and down throughout. Saw only a handful of people on a Sunday. Keep your ears alert for mountain bikes going fast on narrow trail. Also, I was stung by a bee or wasp near the sandstone mounds. Someone told me afterwards that it’s best to wear solid colors so as not to attract bees/wasps.

Excellent trail. Shady all the way. Some bikes on it - everyone was very polite. Would not recommend for small kids due to steepness.

Great shaded hike for the family- if you and kiddos can take a bit of climbing. As others have said, it does have its inclines! We started via Tafoni and then “detoured” to see the sandstone formation (very well marked and really great to see)... then came back via El Corte. The end is where much of the climbing was. Next time, we’d probably take El Corte at the first fork and loop back via Tafoni. Not a lot of folks or mountain bikers on trail, when we were there (Sunday 9am).

well maintained, almost entirely shady hike with beautiful trees. you could hear some road sounds at the beginning and end but other than that, very peaceful and tranquil.

Amazing trail to run, you get to see something beautiful half way (perfect time for a little break and a chance to break out the camera). definitely not for someone with low endurance.

Just finished hiking this forested trail. Pleasant hike but there is a significant number of up and downs which will leave you winded. This is not a flat trail by any means and your legs will get a fairly good workout. Fair number of mountain bikers who were very courteous. The Tafoni sandstone was beautiful and there is an observation deck. We got there at 10:45 on a Sunday morning so there were not many hikers and the weather was moderate. Did not finish the entire loop as my wife and I were fairly exhausted.
