Got to the trail at 6:15 this morning hoping to catch the sunrise, but it was cloudy. Like others said, parking is tight on the side of the road. But since I was super early, there were no other cars there and I had no trouble. I hiked this with my 11 yr old dog, which was perfect since the trail is relatively short but still a good uphill workout. He practically pulled me up and down this trail. There is a section of major erosion that may startle you, but just veer to the right to go around it. The views at the top and the fact that no one else was there make this one of my new favorites.

Not that difficult/not that noteworthy of a summit trek. If you're peak-bagging your way through SD county, its worth a go. Trailhead very easy to miss, look for the 2.5 mile marker on the road, it's like 50 feet away from that sign. Trail appears to be a defunct service road, definitely no vehicle has gone up there in years. Very deep chasms in the trail carved by runoff and erosion. At the top you'll see the ghost of an old set of power lines, which probably powered a long gone antenna. Nice views up there, nothing too magical. You'll definitely find some solitude and serenity on this trail though. Not another soul in site on a balmy Saturday afternoon.

really great for training, decently steep all up hill. be careful going in the winter after rains there are a lot of water lines that can snag an ankle and the ground is quite loose, we made that mistake once. the sunset view up there (take a small picnic!) is really fantastic, and there's so few people around it's a very pleasant hike.

This is a pretty standard peak hike that will give you views of some of the surrounding areas. I was on a geocache run and found my #500 at the summit, so I remember this peak fondly.

Fun hike. Great views! Parking is a bit tight on the side of the road, but there's room for a few cars. The route is short but quite an incline! I would agree on a "moderate" rating v easy, but I'm also old and out of shape ;). We took an 8yr old beginner hiker and a 1yr old in a carrier and we all enjoyed it.

Really awesome and shorter hike with some serious inclines. Once again, alltrails seems a little off on the difficulty rating. I'd give this a moderate for sure. Really great views from the top and I only saw two other people on the trail.

Hiked this trail today and it is a pretty good workout. Lots of loose rocks and uneven trail, looks like from the storm from last month. I saw a couple of wildflowers and the view on the peak is breath taking! On my way down I heard a rattlesnake but I didn't see it, it's pretty scary so beware. All in all the hike was awesome!

Love this trail it's my neighborhood so this is a weekly workout for me. I like to hike up and run down. It's steep and uneven but gets you in shape for all the other trails and there are geocaches all up the hillside if your into that. The view at the top is my favorite I love to sit on the rock at the top and look down at the world ;)
