Ansolutely stunning! Woods smelled amazing! Relatively not populated. Good shade. Nice mix of incline and flat trail areas!

Took the SF ferry to Saulsilito and the shuttle to the park. Make reservations early enough to get the time you want on the shuttle. The main trail with the boardwalks is well done and really nice. We got there early 9:30 so not as many people as when we left around 2pm - busy. Walked Bootjack trail towards the meadow. No one was in this trail due to the “beware of wasps” sign. We saw them but no issues. We also did the Fern trail to lost trail to canopy trail which was great! A bunch of steps going up but a different perspective from the top of the forest than the bottom.

My wife & I did the "Canopy View/ Lost/ Fern Creek Trails Loop" that was posted near the entrance of the National Monument area, close to the Visitor Center. The ~2.7km loop was moderately challenging with most of the first half being uphill. Lots of great views of the canopy before coming back down to the main area. We loved it! There were lots of other trail options and we'd love to go back!

#1, get a reservation for parking. #2, get here super early. #3, download your maps. If early, you can do the soon-to-be-crowded part first with relatively no one around. Which is nice. Once you are back on the trails you may not see anyone for a half-hour at a time. This whole area is what you make of it. Bring your maps! We did this route minus the Hillside Trail Loop and it can kick your ass if in average shape.

Great hike with lovely views! One issue, however, is that near the end of the trail, you have to find the unmarked dipsea trail near the freeway. (near Muir Woods RD)

This place is majestic to me. Muir Woods is my favorite place to visit and hike. One can spend the day exploring the park and hiking.

If you get here before 9 you can get in for free! I got there right after sunrise and was the only person there for a long time. It's really cold in the woods, like hat, gloves, scarf and multiple layers cold. Go prepared!

Plenty to take in on this hike, and topping it off with grilled cheese and tomato soup from the café is a must!!

We started the Dipsea trail on the second parking lot from the Visitor Center, went up to Ben Johnson Trail (really up!) and closed the loop using Hillside Trail. Because we did the loop on hte oposite direction (not starting on the park), we did not have the pay the entrance.

This is a great hike. There are some challenging parts with some steep uphills. Go prepared for the beach so you can really enjoy all of the beauties of this trail.

The ultimate 7 mile hike from Mill Valley right into Stinson Beach. Recommended you bring someone along with you who has done it before as there are parts of trail you can make the wrong turn. For the ultimate challenge do it from Stinson beach to Mill Valley and back. Lots of elevation change and uneven sufaces
