Challenging, this hike begins with a creekside walk that quickly gains altitude. But don't worry, there's a few flat spots along the way to enjoy the scenery. Great workout. Not a lot of parking. Unlike Calabasas Peak that is exposed to sun up and down, Stunt High trail across the street has shade.

This is a really beautiful trail! Mostly shaded with a lot of variety. It starts out following a creek, which when we hiked was actually a creek and not a dry bed. There were a couple of meadows on the way up, some cool rock formations, and good views. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it never really gets far enough away from Stunt Road to avoid hearing the occasional loud car or motorcycle. However, much better than the typical exposed hillside trail that is common in this area.

Not much shade but it has beautiful views of the surrounding Santa Monica mountains. Not many people even for a Sunday. Parking is easy at trailhead. Heard lots of birds singing

Really nice trail. Lots of shaded areas. There are creeks and even creek crossings. There was a tree knocked over on the trail that we had to climb over. Trail was quite muddy after the rain last week, so bring hiking boots. While the trail itself was nice, the destination wasn’t rewarding. It ends on the highway, with nothing new to see. But would do this again for the trail experience.

Starts out a little dark and wet from being near the creek through the valley, but after a half mile it really turns into such a wonderful hike. It slowly climbs up out of the canyon and up the mountain, following a consistent and manageable incline. After the rains it is so green and lush. Bugs in areas from the wetness of the trail, but nothing too bad. Very rocky so bring good footwear!

Go in counterclockwise! Such a fun scramble with beautiful views. Will definitely do this one again great quick 4 miles

It’s a beautiful hike in Calabasas with a great workout. It’s an initial descent but then you have some uphill scrambles. Would have enjoyed it so much more if there weren’t a CLOUD OF BUGS throughout the trail. I only made it a third of the way through as my friend and I were getting totally miserable swatting insects away. Also, watch out for poison oak. So much poison oak and the path is overgrown in many areas. Definitely cover your arms and legs.

Very mellow, definitely shade for half of it. With all the rain recently the trail itself was a trickling creak so it was muddy. Very quiet and the dog loved it. Saw maybe 2 people midday on a Saturday

Good for baby’s first hike. Shady enough.

Awesome trail. Shady most of the way up, dense forest/shrubs, well-maintained trail, few people, great views on the way up. Only downside is that it ends at a road as opposed to a peak. Correction- You can connect to the Backbone Trail by turning right on the road at the end of the trail, then turning left. This leads up past some sandstone outcrops, then views of the ocean and LA.

My go-to trail if I only have a couple of hours to do ~5 plus miles. Gradual incline. I usually start at the 2nd tier off of UCLA Stunt Ranch. The entrance is hidden but if you look, you'll see it.

There are trails on both sides of the road, one more strenuous than the other. Took the less difficult trail with my little doggie and it was beautiful scenery with very little incline. Very shady most of the way with a bench to stop and rest if you need to and there was even some water in the stream.

Easy fun local hike, doesn't take long and the rocks at the top make for a nice spot to rest and take pictures.
