This is a single track trail that goes from the road up to the fire road that goes up Mt. Saint Helena. Alternatively, you could take the fire road the whole way, by starting about a quarter mile north along CA - 29, Lake County Hwy. After a mile and a half it reaches the fire road. Another quarter mile or so and you have reached the popular "Bubble" rock climbing area. Further along the fire road there are more popular climbing areas.

I’m not sure I would rate this as easy. The first half of the trail is rocky switch backs (mild-moderate difficulty), but the last half is a gravel service road (mild difficulty). If you want good views and an easier hike you can start further down the road where the service road connects to the main road. Great hike all around. Safely done with a one year old and 3 year old on our backs.

Beautiful hike, every season here in Acadia!

Good easy trail with distant views. The upper half of the trail is a dirt road which makes the hike pretty leisurely. The first wooded part has some rugged rocks, but it’s not bad. The views were really nice at the top!
