Hike from the gate to the top of Steer Ridge, enjoying solitude, steep ascents and descents, wildlife, birds, and, oh yeah...cows. Start at Hunting Hollow Gate. Take Hunting Hollow Road for .7 to Lyman Wilson Ridge Trail. Climb for 2.6 miles to Steer Ridge Road. Take a left and follow the ups and downs of the cattle road for 2.5 miles to Steer Ridge Trail. Follow the steep decline 1.4 miles down to Hunting Hollow Gate.
