Chino Hills State Park charges a fee to enter. For more information, please visit https://www.chinohills.org/284/Chino-Hills-State-Park#:~:text=Park%20Entrance,free%20to%20all%20walking%20traffic.. The trailhead is at the Rim Crest Drive and Blue Gum Drive intersection in Yorba Linda and leads 100' to South Ridge Trail. For this route (counter-clockwise loop) take South Ridge Trail east for 1 mile, north on Little Canyon Trail for 1/4 mile, west on Telegraph Canyon Trail for 2 miles, south on Diemer Trail for 1/4 mile, and east on South Ridge Trail for 1 1/2 miles back to the trailhead. All four trails are wide and well groomed. You can also do this loop clockwise, but Diemer Trail here is unmarked but should be obvious at 1 1/2 miles because it branches right and is well-maintained, whereas South Ridge Trail is suddenly no longer well-maintained.

Don’t get me wrong the hike was beautiful but there was nothing easy about it. I am an average experienced hiker and I had a hard time finishing it

I recommend wearing a hat during the daytime because there is very little shade on this route, and much of the shade is next to large poison oak bushes.

Quarter Horse Trail has a free parking lot with plenty of spaces. On busy weekends, the walk up QHT into the park may be shorter than parking half way down the popular Rim Crest entrance.

Nice route except for a couple groups of mtn bikers coming down telegraph at 20-25+ mph. The MTN bike community I encounter at Santiago Oaks are kind and yield the trail when they're supposed to. Not so at CHSP. It's a shame.

Easy trail with minimal incline depending which way you end. We took our kids and they enjoyed it. Make sure you go when it’s cool because there is zero shade! No dogs :(
