Great trail with a lot to look at. Take the time and go to hummingbird island if doing South loop. The hike that flows back down to highway 1 because I forgot to turn it off when we left to eat.

Easy trail with nice views. I walked it with my 7-yearold daughter and she enjoyed. We stopped every so often to watch butterflies, rabbits, birds and even jelly fishes in the salt water.

Still lots of wildflowers, nice variety of terrain. Would definitely return.

Very nice easy hike with nice views. Definitely would go through it again. Watch out for areas with higher grass as there are bugs/ ticks but the higher grass was few and far between- just something to look out for. Very nicely marked for the most part and some interesting areas to explore - barn, railroad, and water views. A very nice time!

Nice trails. Lots of wildlife seen, from several types of shorebirds, quail and hawks to a Gopher Snake and Alligator Lizard.

Saw an otter about 15 ft away on the way to hummingbird island! But no hummingbirds :(

Easy enough hike for my 5 and 7 year old boys. Great visitor center at the entrance with maps and information on the local flora and fauna

This is a lovely easy walk that we've now done twice on Winter solstice. Come in the last hour of the day for a special golden light that makes for amazing photos. Plenty of birds and a nice visitor center to warm up in with knowledgeable docents. Plenty of parking as well. If you are with kids or grandparents, walk out to the boardwalk and bridge, explore the ruins of the Big Barn. If you'd like a longer stroll, do the whole loop. About 2 miles for the loop.

Great coastal scenary, tidepools with sea urchins, hermit crabs, sea anenomes, and small crabs visible (searched for starfish but didn't find any). Obnoxious presence (on side of road accross from beach) of houses owned by obviously well-to-do, the more opulent, the greater tendency to seem vacent or not lived in. Monterey area is beautiful but beware, the hotter the summer day, the greater chance of coastal fog.
