South Lake Trail to Skaggs Springs Vista is a 0.5 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Geyserville, California that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, trail running, and camping and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

May 17, 2019Grass was tall and almost covering trail but other than that, nice short walk to cool overlook.
August 18, 2018I took this trail in a Saturday pretty private only 1 group of hikers passed me. The first part of the trail is pretty rough lots of loose rocks and loose dirt, kinda like a 4 wheel drive or horseback trail but after the first mile or so it turns into a normal hiking trail. To get to the water it’s an extra mile but when you do get make it to the bottom there are nice picnic tables to relax under, even camping if you wish to.

First to ReviewThis trail is heavily used by horses. There is a stable and horse rentals at the trail head. The trail is in very bad condition and is rutted, muddy, and unsightly. I don’t recommend it for walking.
