Are you a dog lover? Do you enjoy scenic views? Interested in historic landmarks?

This trail has it all.

Although the hike itself is much like many other trails in the area. It does offer quiet a few things at the starting point. Which I have to say earned much appraisal.

You'll definitely get wonderful views of the Azusa mountains and surrounding skyline.

It starts at South Hills park, which includes parking, bathrooms, playground for your little screamers and a dog park for your furry friends. The park itself is well maintained.

Also at the start, there is a piece of history dating roughly around the 1800s, stands the Hamilton House. A farm like residence with orchards.

I went with my dog and felt rewarded at the end. There is a lot of ground squirrels. A few things that were unpleasant was the numerous nettles and bugs near the area. Bug spray is a must!

It felt more of a moderate hike, not hard at all. Love that it has several trails to choose from. Will definitely visit often.

Great workout, several trail heads at the dog park that reads at Mauna Loa east of Glendora Ave. From easy to difficult. Favorite loop to do start at trail head just behind dog park pens take a right up to Wild Iris trail make another right onto Walnut trail which will take you to the fire road, go left and it'll loop back to the top of Wild Iris or you can press onto the other trails like Mustard or Toyon. All loop back to dog park.

Every time I go to Azusa-CA (South East of LA) I drive on the Glendora MT. Road. I love driving there because the roads are nice and breath taking (if you are driving fast). Besides that you can do lots of fun things like picnickers, hikes, skying (Mt. Baldy), etc. By visiting this page you can check the many hikes you can go there. I lived closed to the Glendora Mt. Road so I loved my adventures there, hiking or driving.
