Although the Mission Trails Regional Park is open for recreation, all the park’s parking lots, Cowles Mountain, Pyles Peak, Kumeyaay Lake Campground, the MTRP Visitor Center and all other facilities are closed due to COVID-19 concerns. Hikers must either walk or ride a bike to trailheads. So, please plan accordingly. Check here for updates: https://mtrp.org/ This is a perfect 10k loop that starts and ends at the Visitors Center parking lot

A lot of the trails in the area are doing construction. So a lot of detour area

I hiked this today for the first time. The Mission Trails parking lots were open today; I don't know if this is permanent but both the parking at the start of this trail, and the parking at the Visitors center, were both open. I brought plenty of water and some snacks and was glad I did. The trail is in good shape and well maintained. The flowers were blooming and it was very beautiful. I didn't run in to too many others over the six miles, maybe a dozen or so people total, but I started early. Minimal shade. I am a relatively new hiker and this was a challenging hike for me, but I will be doing it again as it's beautiful and so close to home.

Very good workout! The stairs are so intense! Beautiful views, best time to do the trail its early in the morning. You can not get lost because every little trail connects to another one. We did 5.8 miles in about 2 hrs 14 minutes, but we went around different trails so it took a little more time than usual.

Awesome hike! Throughout each trail there are other fork in the roads (trails) to take as a detour should you feel taking a different route. One long river to cross but just find the clustered rocks to hop scotch across!

You have to take your shoes off to cross the river so bring small towel. Bring lots the water cause there’s no shade and steep hills.

Definitely not a beginner trail. But was fun!

Another great trail to get that booty in shape. Bring water and sunscreen. If you go the stair way be careful because it is a climb and you also have to be careful going down it too. Not a lot of trashcans along the way to dispose of dog droppings nor are there any areas to use the restroom. Leave the trails better than when you walked them and as always, enjoy the views!

Great trail - lots of wildflowers are starting to bloom on the saddle. Not overly trafficked if you go early in the AM. Dog friendly and a quality workout. The All Trails map option was difficult/glitchy so grab a physical map at the entrance and follow that.
