Scenic out and back with a nice river crossing about half way out to cool off. They don't put devil in the name around here for nothing! The view from Devil's Chair is great, some very unique geology!

Loved it. Bring poles some loose narrow gravel areas to pass.

Beautiful views. Went on a Sunday so it was a bit too crowded for my taste. People in front and behind you almost the entire time. Could barely stop to enjoy the view or take a picture.

When I goto Devil's Chair, I usually take the popular route which begins at Devil's Punchbowl (the Devil's Chair Trail). The South Fork route is completely different from that. It's a "rollercoaster hike" (multiple ups and downs vs steady incline/decline) and offers different scenery. I think the Devil's Chair Trail might be my favorite, but the South Fork route is a nice alternative. The campground is really cool, too.

Note: I recommend the shorter version of this trail, which is two miles less. It begins at the South Fork Campground and saves you from walking up the dirt road to the camp.

Beautiful hike if you like desertscape. Some very interesting rock formations and a couple creeks to cool off in. Bring water and a hat as it's usually pretty warm and there isn't a ton of shade.
