Parking is available at the Alltrails marked starting point as well as above the road. After parking you'll travel approximately 5 miles southeast via Highland Way and Buzzard Lagoon Rd (clockwise) till you reach Cusack's Trail. From there you'll ride about 4 miles on trail and fire road till you reach section 1 of the Flow Trail. There are 6 sections of the Flow that equal about 3 miles.

Many thanks to all that offered assistance on Wednesday. What a nice bunch of people out there! Turns out i fractured my wrist in three places after hitting a root in Segment 5. It was fun while it lasted! Thank you again everyone, especially you two who offered me all your emergency supplies in the parking lot!

One of the best rides in the Bay Area. Nice long fire road up to the top of the hill. Amazing single track that leads to the flow trail. The segments in the flow trail are out of this world. Berms, rollers, jumps, small bridges, all tucked into redwood groves. Oh, did I mention there are some amazing lookout points where you can see the ocean. Note: at the end of the flow trail there is ~4mi slow and steady climb out to the staging area on a fire road. My legs are jelly every time. This place is unreal.

Best mountain biking in CA. Go on a week day morning when no one is there!

As of July 22, Aptos Creek Road is CLOSED WEEKDAYS FROM 6:30am to 4:00pm while Cal Fire conducts wildfire mitigation (ie. removal of dry brush, trees, etc.) with heavy machinery. I attempted to access the Flow Trail from this direction today (September 17) but found the road to be closed at the intersection of Aptos Creek Road and Buzzard Lagoon Road. I rode down Buzzard Lagoon Road to Cusack’s Trail and ascended Cusack’s Trail but was met with more closure signs where Cusack’s Trail intersects Aptos Creek Road. Here, I was met by a CA State Parks Ranger who was patrolling the road. He informed me of Aptos Creek Road’s 4:00pm opening. I ended up riding back down to the parking area on Highland Way and taking Hihn’s Mill Road to Sulphur Springs Road....Sulphur Springs Road to Ridge Trail...Ridge Trail to Flow Trail...Flow Trail to Hihn’s Mill Road...Hihn’s Mill Road to Highland Way. This is currently the best way to access Flow Trail, Braille, etc. before 4:00pm on weekdays. Enjoy!

Burms, Burms, Burms! Be ready to commit though. There is a big climb to the top and a big climb out.

The flow trail section is only about 3 miles, but one of the funnest trails I've ever done. Not very challenging, just fast and flowy.

An entertaining trail. I am not a good jumper, and it is still fun to ride the 6 segments of the Flow trail. I think this will be more fun over time.

Great trail, even suitable for beginner mountain bikers if they take their time (but may have to walk around short rock gardens on the Ridge Trail). Not a steep climb overall, just a little long, but well worth the effort getting to the top to ride the awesome flow trail down.
