Walked it starting Easter this year. of note 1. first day snow mountain had a thick layer of snow to slog through, not an issue later in the year, but early year hiking can be dangerous for any but extremely prepared. 2. at several points, especially day 2 and 3, sections of the trail are SUPREMELY OVERGROWN! if you don't have GPS you won't find the trail due to it essentially disappearing. day 2, bring a machete or axe to clear trail, day 3 I recommend taking the road to trailhead, there are heavy washouts, and several half mile sections where the trail disappears to less than deer trail, do not take! Conclusion= clearly used to be an amazing loop, if not for no maintenance for several years. Only take it if ready for serious bushwhacking in along side of steep slopes.
