We loved it. Two adults, two kids and two dogs. Great trail. We camped by the lake. Barely any bugs. Beautiful weather. Trail was in great shape.

Overall, this is a good hike. We would not categorize it as “Easy” however. The initial assent is long and steep and the loop around the lake is technically challenging, especially on the south side where the trail is steep and crosses a few streams. The views from the ridge above the lake are beautiful. Our dogs actually enjoyed cooling off in the streams and for a great workout!

Beautiful views as you walk the loop up and around the lake. The trail on the south side is a bit over grown and steep. I’m not sure if I would rate the loop trail as easy unless you are just going to the lake. Three water crossings and it’s nice to have walking sticks if you go on the south side.

Fun hike around a beautiful lake in the north Lakes Basin Area near Graegle. Took the trail on the north side of the lake first and back on the south side. The south side is not maintained so had to cross several small rapid run offs (waterfalls) on rocks & walked on a log over another — it was challenging, but worth it. Views from the top of the ridge were amazing!

We found that the hike is as advertised as easy, unless you do the full loop. The trail on the south side of the lake is not maintained and had to cross flowing creeks. Large tree gets you across one and you loose sight of the trail. Turned it into a moderate hike. All in all well worth it.

Once you get past the first up hill climb, it's pretty easy. The lake is very peaceful and if you get above the lake on the ridge it has a beautiful view of the lake and the surrounding area.

Decent hike, not quite what it was hyped as. Wouldn’t necessarily classify as easy - the western part of the loop of the lake is “unmaintained” as a sign on a log points out. The elevation was real too! Nevertheless, if looking for a quick moderate hike with a nice lake view, this is a good option!

Beautiful hike. Definitely hike the ridge above the Lake. Frost side of the mountain trail is still snowed in as of 4/26/18.

The initial accent is not "easy".
