Make side to bring bug repellant! Too many mosquitoes. Some of the uphill parts were pretty damn steep, definitely not easy - but that made it all the more rewarding when we finally got done with the 8+ miles. Very pretty, would recommend!

Lots of gnats and mosquitos but a nice, quiet hike. Not difficult. Lots of poison oak though.

For a trail run, this is a great trail. It's relatively flat, moderately long, and pretty. That said, recently I've encountered quite a few mountain bikers, which is super annoying. This trail is not designated for them, and it's really narrow so passing can be dangerous. I've tried to encourage them to go elsewhere (Purisma, across the street and El Corte Madera a few miles down the road have bicycle designated trails). Please also do the same.

Theres really not much to see here and I definitely wouldn’t rate it moderate. It was very easy in my opinion but it’s still a good hike for any amateur since it’s over 7mi. Good to get some rest experience in. There’s also virtually nobody on this trail. Have fun!

Some really nice redwoods but no real views. A lot of better hikes in the same area. I'd park on Kings Mountain road and start from there. Felt like less elevation than described here.

I would recommend extending hike to 5.1 and returning after visiting “Methsusal” the old growth Redwood.
