Nice combination of Oaks and Coastal Redwoods. Signs are abundant and easy to see. Not heavily trafficked, nor is it extremely steep at any point. Good switch back system. Will return to further explore!

The trails are wide, you can keep your distance for most of the time. The hike is not hard. If you want to see the green pond follow my recording, the one on the app does not go there. If you want to see the horses again follow my trail the app does not take you there :) Part of the hike is exposed definitely sun cream and or hat would be great. Last but not least, the trail head this app is giving is not convenient. There is actually a parking lot at the main entrance of the park. Again you can check where I started. Happy hikes.

The bottom of Alambique was closed so I used Bear Gulch up & down and did the upper loop. That trail was 10.87 miles , so I think this trail is longer than described. Overall great trail! Bear Gulch is the only single track. The rest of the trail is wide. Almost all shade.

This is really more of a moderate than hard trail, there was partial closure but you could reroute to make the figure 8 loop. Overall, not much to see by way of scenary, but it was well shaded for the most part and made for a leisurely stroll.

As of 5/4/19, Alambique is open to hikers and you can do the figure 8. Check conditions if it rains, as the new section of the trail still has soft shoulders and might be subject to closures. Based on our experience and reviewing other logs, this is more like 10.5-10.7 miles, not 9.5 like the description says.

The Alambique trail heading towards the creek from the crossroads is closed, so doing the figure 8 is not possible (as of 06/03).

Mountain biking

You're not allowed to mountain bike on this trail. Do NOT start from Woodside and expect to ride up and then back down. That being said, if you do decide to mountain bike this track, it's a nice ride. Coming back up on Alambique isn't difficult.

I agree with Elizabeth: this is rather a moderate run. Large trail, not so steep uphills. Very nice !
