This hike is a great extension to the Temescal Canyon Trail which adds minimal elevation gain and distance, but greatly improves the experience. Take some time to explore Skull Rock and do some scrambling to get the best ocean views! There is a $10 fee to park.

Way too crowded on the weekend with social distancing. People rarely pulling over for passing, most people just barrel past you without masks

Awesome trail with plenty of beautiful flowers and little creatures with a waterfall on the loop back . Definitely not too difficult . Never very steep just constant incline the whole way up . Enjoyable exercise with a great view of the ocean and the city of LA . Will return to this trail .

Overgrown in several spots. Higher traffic. View from the skull is beautiful.

Nice views that’s the only reason I’m putting 3 stars. It’s a very family, Sunday walker trail and most of them in large groupes not wearing masks

Trail is a little more overgrown that normal but very manageable. It was hard to find the little trail that takes you up to Skull Rock.

Amazing trail. Did it clockwise. Highly recommend climbing into the eye of the skull. There’s overgrowth on the way to skull rock so plan accordingly with clothing as this is prime tick real estate.

The trail is well maintained. It's also beautiful. The views are pretty decent and the rock at the top is really cool. I saw there for a bit to take in the view. Parking is $10 so be ready for that. I'll come back for sure.

Pretty good hike with some elevation. Good views and conveniently located. Great for a quick hike or spend a day hanging out. I will be back. Beautiful day in late February. Sunny with a light breeze. Mid 70’s. Trail was dry dry dry.

I didn’t like the first part of the tail at all. It’s just a very big and wide fire road. No shade at all and everything is dried out. If you like running pretty trails this is not it. I recommend starting out at Tripps Ranch for any of the trails.

Breathtaking view, but be careful with ticks. Got tick bites after hiking
