Short version
It’s very easy to follow for the most part and a nice light hike. I definitely warmed up though, so leave that extra fleece in the car and enjoy the walk! It was muddy in a few spots, but easy to navigate and the redwoods and grey skies made for a moody, mystical morning walk.
Street parking, a lot of broken car window glass shards along the street, so be cautious. The trail is nice, shady almost everywhere. Good view in one spot, all the rest nothing special. Lots of poison oak along the trail
A kind of secluded trail. It was nice to hear the trees creaking in the wind
We lost the “correct” trail a couple times but no problem. Lovely views from the outlook. Lots of cheerful folks walking on this Tuesday afternoon, but no bikes or runners.
Plenty of street parking. The view at the lookout point at sunset was amazing on this clear evening. Clear skies made for an awesome view of the city. There were a lot of mountain bikers and the trail was very narrow so be careful. Most of the trail had pretty heavy canopy cover. Right around sunset by the creek the trail got darker and was tricky to avoid slipping. The soil was pretty compact, but there were small muddy patches spread about.
Great local Oakland hike - views of the bay plus creek sounds. If you don’t like mountain bikers it’s not for you!
Wide paved places with a nice lookout. Close to more forested canyon trails.
Slightly muddy but nothing slippery. Watch out for mountain bikers. Not good for strollers. Lookout point is worth it.
Made it about a mile or so in with my 3yo. The bishop’s walk portion was steep and narrow, leaving me a bit nervous anytime my kid tried to let go of my hand, but it led us to a lovely lookout point. The sinawik portion was lovely and took us through a grove of redwoods.
Nice trail, a lot of broken glass which I worried about with my dog. Also very buggy. But overall nice short hike.
