ok let me explain the rating if this was an app for driving I would rate it four or five star but this is an app for hiking and a good portion of it is a Highway then it turns into a really windy road that has a lot of blind spots and very little room to walk would not suggest hiking in this route but it is a nice drive

A great way to spend a whole day. The greatest strain driving this in a stock engined Samurai is the long stretch up 168 to Cressman's. The bit between there and downtown Shaved Lake can be fun, but not if you have a group of higher powered vehicles riding your 60hp tail. Going up during snow season is achievable with a 4x4 if continuing on up to Lakeshore on Huntington Lake. The restaurant at Lakeshore is open year round.

This is a road, not a trail, and parts of it, especially Old Tollhouse Road would be very dangerous to walk. If you don't like edges, I wouldn't recommend driving down Old Tollhouse either. Certainly the views are terrific.
