Definitely the most shaded trail I've been on in the Bay Area. Good amounts of terrain, narrow bits of trail, not as much water as was hoping for. Beautiful trees all around one or two great views the rest forest views.

Nice day out! Not too strenuous although there is a bit of an incline. Pretty empty for a beautiful Sunday late morning. Only 2 cars in the lot when I got there. There’s not much to see in the way of scenic views but an enjoyable hike. The drive up to the trail head has nicer views than the actual trail. 90% of the trail is shaded so it was a great way to spend a hot afternoon.

Definitely well shaded. There are a few steeper sections, but they are all very manageable and short in length. Camp Pomponio Road is a little rough, but should be passable to most vehicles (I was able to get my Porsche Cayman to the trailhead with no trouble).

very tranquil trail with few hikers. Not difficult to hike except that the trail sometimes gets very narrow. Great for redwoods lovers.

A beautifully green and shaded trail, but the drive to the trailhead was stressful- not sure I'd want to repeat it. Very secluded on a Friday in August! We saw one person in the parking lot when we arrived, and then no one on the entire trail.

This trail might be the most shaded trail I have ever hiked in the Bay Area. More than 90% is well covered. So it's definitely a perfect choice is you want to hike on a hot summer day! The parking lot at the trailhead is limited. Though there are few hikers here, I suggest you arrive earlier (before 10 am on weekends).
