Did Sgt. Steve Owen's Bench Trail today. It was a bit harder than expected but, I was able to complete it. The trail starts at the aqueduct, if you don't know where to turn you might miss it. the only down side about this trail is all the dog poop on the side of aqueduct and the trail. People should try to be more responsible and better dog owners.

Great trail, starts off walking next to the aqueduct for a bit then you deviate a bit to the trail that leads to the bench. Great views at the top, the bench is shady great place to rest and take in the scenery !

Passed this trail as part of the Joshua Ranch Loop Trail. It’s a nice spot to sit if you need to rest as there is shade over the bench. There is only the one bench and people just stand near it if someone is sitting down. I noticed some mountain bikers who congregated before heading down the remainder of the trail. Again, I didn’t see signage for this spot and happened to pass it as part of Joshua Ranch Loop Trail.

Pretty good little hike, especially with spring flowers in bloom. X2 spots to sit at the top of the summit. A few bikes stroll by and an old man and his motorcycle.

This was a fun short trail for all ages. Easy hill climbs and trail is very easy to follow. Walked it with my wife and 4 year old daughter. Great views of Palmdale into Lancaster and Quartz Hill. Beautiful poppies this time of year all along the trail. Great for pictures and most of in memory of Sgt. Steve Owen. Thanks for making it an easy find on the Trail app! Joey G, Tara G and Brooke G

Trail was great but hard to find the start. Go down the dirt path next to the aqueduct including the curve to the left. The path beginning will be between the curve and the water towers, across the drainage ditch.

Nice to have a trail so close to town. A bunch of off shoots for mountain bikers so there is definitely a potential for someone to get turned around midhike. Was a good trail for a quick hike, will do again.

Obviously I failed. I went the wrong way and by the time I realized it I wasn’t willing to turn around. Park on the east side and head toward Palmdale...... it was a beautiful walk regardless of my mistake

Easy to stay on trail. Mostly level ground, there’s a few spots where it’s uneven but easily navigated bench at the top

Easy trail to find if you know what you’re looking for. It is on the opposite side of the Aqueduct Trail. Gave it three stars because it’s not clearly marked so we had difficulty finding it at first. Another reason is because there is no trash bins, not even in the parking lot. One of our dogs wore a backpack so he could carry the poop bags in there. Overall, it was a fun trail with some good views.

Did an extension past the bench to meet up with some single track to come back to extend a little under 6 miles. This area is a great place for hiking and mountain biking with a good mix of wide trails and single track as well as climbs and descents. One drawback is that here are so many trails crossing each other, it's hard to know which ones go where. Sucks when you've been hiking or riding a long distance already, and you realize that you've just taken a trail that's going to add much more work to your already long workout.

A nice short trail in town that's climbs after leaving the Aqueduct. The trail goes south off the Aqueduct close to a drainage pipe that goes under the Aqueduct, it is a little hard to find but you should see a downed fence to cross or go up the hill and see an opening in the fencing. Later the trail will intersect with the Joshua Ranch Trail and several other bike trails. You will see a total of 2 Benches on the Sgt. Owen Bench Trail. The turn around point is the second bench that has a bike fixing station at it compliments of a local bike shop. The trail does have loose rocky areas with a easy to moderate climb. The trail was moderately trafficked with hikers and bikers. This trail is loaded with DOG POOP!

I tired it a few days ago and I didn’t do the actual trail but this time I found it and it was so amazing. It’s a lot of uphill and beautiful views I didn’t complete it because I was out of energy so will definitely be going back to finish it and challenge myself 10/10 recommend for someone who has experience with uphills
