Directions from Big Stump Entrance: Travel north 3.5 miles past Grant Grove Village to the road for General Grant Tree. Turn left and follow the road one mile to the lower parking area for General Grant Tree.

The trail was hard to follow even with help from a ranger. The lake at the bottom was nothing special, the switchbacks going back up have a pretty decent incline. You’ll definitely get a workout but the view of the lake didn’t make it worthwhile in our opinion

trail wasn't in great shape, and was hard to follow at times, fallen trees and not clearly marked. It takes you down to the lake where the YMCA is located, not an outstanding view. will try for better lake view trail next time.

Started at the YMCA Family Camp slight incline at 5000 elevation killed me but so worth it beautiful trail great view of Lake Sequoia and General Grant Giant Sequoia and super fun walking over the giant sequoia in Lions Meadow.
