Nice place to take your kids and there are many families enjoying this place on the weekend which makes it over crowded and loud. A mariachi band was playing the day I went. Also dogs are not allowed in the trail.

I tried a morning run here and was looking forward to it, but between the funky smell of the basin and the numerous spider webs strung across the trail (think: Frodo stuck in the spider’s web in Return of the King) it became uncomfortable to run on. I had to run through the parking lots just to avoid the webs and bugs. Wouldn’t recommend unless the trails were cleaned up.

Lovely nature walk with lake views, we went later in the afternoon and it wasn’t as hot or crowded

Easy trail to walk, good parking, but no shade. Get there early in the day. Also there were some nice wildflowers, but not a large variety. Very close to civilization, so not as immersive in nature as I would have liked.

Beautiful, scenic views. Some trails were closed at the time, but the main trails were nice. A tad overrun with high grasses that branched out onto trails.

Got to check out this trail (8 mins from home!) that i never knew existed. Brought my 5 month old bull terrier puppy on a Wednesday morning at 7am. Extremely quiet morning, had the trail mostly to ourselves other than 1 other dog/owner we passed when first starting. The wildlife was out in full force, the egrets, geese ducks, rabbits, and squirrels were every couple yards. Had an awesome time and will for sure return.
