$10 Parking Fee in Cash only. Shaded with high redwood trees. Very easy hike. You need to view the falls from the top. Can’t go down and near.

We did half the trail to the waterfall and it was 3 miles .... not sure how the hole loop is 6 , I think it’s more. Very shaded no bugs, and beautiful trees.

The falls were closed, and the trail is one way so you can’t go there and come back. We ended up having to do about 4.5 miles total to get back to our car. Really nice hike and not too crowded.

Big Basin was busy when my family and I went, to enter the park you have to pay a $10 fee, I recommend bringing cash if you can, it just makes the whole process easier. The hike was nice and it was marked one way to adhere to social distancing regulations but there were moments that we did run into people coming down our path. The trail was small so it was definitely hard to social distance, most people were wearing masks though. The actual landing next to the falls were closed but you could still see the falls from the roadside. Instead of hiking back the way we came, we hiked Sequoia trail back to where we parked to make one big loop, the Sequoia trail was beautiful and brought us through the forest and had us cross under some large fallen redwoods. Gorgeous and very doable hike!

Straightforward hike through the trees. The falls is blocked off and not accessible which was disappointing. Most hike a semi-private road back, trying to keep the trail one-way.

Easy trail if you are looking to get into hiking. From the parking lot and back it was roughly 5 miles. During your hike you can see the road off to the right so it isn’t too far into the woods. The actual waterfall was “closed off” but EVERYONE ignored the sign and got a closer look. I highly encourage you go close to touch the water!

Beautiful destination. Easy trail for kids. Park very empty during COVID so we walked back along the street. The Falls is everything.

Easy hike to Sempervirens Falls, portion of the trail is next to a road where you can hear traffic drive by. The Sempervirens Falls themselves is more impressive on photo than in person.

These trees make you feel young and small. Gorgeous with the morning light streaming in. Not too strenuous but still some incline to get a sweat going. Great little jaunt. Close to the road but was really quiet so that bothered me zero. Magic trees

This is a fairly easy trail to hike with plenty of tree cover and very little sun, so plan for it to be cool. The waterfall has no access area other than a viewing deck that is down a set of stairs. The trail is very well maintained and follows alongside the road so there isn’t a need for trail markers. There is a parking fee for Big Basin.

Nice walk. I love this best during the week, in winter and early spring when there is less people.

Waterfall down The Sempervirens waterfall is easily accessible from the trail or the parking spots along the road, no swimming area. On the way back from the falls we took this trail returning to the car. The trail winds along the west/north side of the access road and passes many large redwood trees. There is a campground about half way between the waterfall and the lodge if you’re into staying there.

Pleasant well-kept trail. Mostly shaded and cool. Picnic tables mixed about. Unfortunately follows a little too close to the road for what I like. Can reach waterfall from the road as well. Graffiti marks up fence surround waterfall :’( Overall easy hike, will probably not do again.

Great trail, I went clockwise. The trail is shaded throughout, saw plenty of people and walked thru campsites towards the end of my trail. The falls was nice. Parking cost $10, but the facilities and trails are nice.

Short hike, more of a warm up. Go 10 am or before to avoid the crowds. Most of the trail hugs the parks road so it is often in view. But it is encompassed in redwoods so it’s still nice. The falls is a thin stream free falling about 20 ft into a small deep pool. There’s a platform to view the falls.

Beautiful trail! I loved the change of scenery from the redwood/Doug fir forest with tan oak & madrone understory to the Monterey pines & chaparral, then back down into dense redwoods: just inspiring! The Dool Trail is closed right now, so we took a slight detour. Enjoy!

I will go back when it’s not a busy weekend during summer. Because the trail is next to a road, you hear and see a lot of cars. And, there were more people than we’d hoped. The platform at the falls was crowded. Nonetheless, my niece got a great long exposure shot of the falls.

Park was packed due to an ultramarathon event. Also detours forced us to hike on the road for a bit. Go for the beautiful and serene hike in the redwoods, don’t go for the waterfall, then you’ll enjoy it tremendously.
