Nice at first but the huge massive hill in the end was killer in a bad way.

crowded sunday. Good trail up & down with gorgeous views of the City & Bay. Good shade spots to catch your breath.

I personally use this trail every other day for my workouts. It’s super quiet during the week. I’ve gone at various hours throughout the day; can be cold and wet in the morning, sunny and hot when the fog burns off. A lot of people don’t abide by the leash requirements for dogs, so if your dog is in training (like mine) just be prepared mentally. Or call them out. Going out is fairly easy, coming back is the real booty burner. Practically all uphill. I would wear hiking shoes. Good amount of shaded areas and nice lookout spots when the fog isn’t engulfing the bay. Parking has never been an issue for me.

Went in the evening on a weekday and it was perfect, a few people, a few mountain bikes, but generally empty trail with stunning views!

This trail started out strong - beautiful views all around with lots of photo ops. However, the trail had areas of being fairly heavily trafficked. Also, a portion of the Grizzly Peak trail is CLOSED. I tried to divert onto another trail and ended up on a slightly scary scramble of a steep hillside. The views were incredible, but I nearly slid off of what little “trail” there was several times. I ended up running up to the road and following that the rest of the way back. It was a disappointing end to what was an otherwise fairly nice trail.

Good moderate hike. Rocky areas and windy. The day I went, the wind was not overly windy where you feel like you’re getting pushed by the wind.

This trail is sneaky AH! First seven miles you’re like, “this is easy!” Then you hit a steady hill incline for the last two miles. I actually thought I was going to die. Great hike! Lots of exposed areas, so bring sunscreen, glasses, and maybe a hat.

SO WINDY!! The wind literally almost blew me over a few times, extremely pretty hike even though I went in the early morning when it was cold and foggy. For the first part of the hike there’s a paved road and then it splits into two trails and I went down the unpaved trail, which was pretty busy!
