Done as part of a longer hike

trail running
Saturday, June 10, 2017

Started from Tilden Steam Train parking lot (flushing bathroom, running water, paper towels--only trail runners will truly appreciate this feature) and ran on road up to trail head. We followed paved path and ended up at radio towers--nice views--ran back down and took the off-shoot road (somewhat paved, gravel). Amazing views of Orinda/San Pablo Dam/Briones AND all of Bay Bridge/SF Golden Gate. It is a technical run with varied terrain--paved, loose gravel, large river type stones, soft leafy paths under dappled sunlight. Some full sun. Can run this trail up and down for the experienced trail runner. Winner.
