This trail started out strong - beautiful views all around with lots of photo ops. However, the trail had areas of being fairly heavily trafficked. Also, a portion of the Grizzly Peak trail is CLOSED. I tried to divert onto another trail and ended up on a slightly scary scramble of a steep hillside. The views were incredible, but I nearly slid off of what little “trail” there was several times. I ended up running up to the road and following that the rest of the way back. It was a disappointing end to what was an otherwise fairly nice trail.

I would recommend this trail for anyone who wants to hike mostly uphill

Good moderate hike. Rocky areas and windy. The day I went, the wind was not overly windy where you feel like you’re getting pushed by the wind.

Great trail! Awkward ending but over all great views

This trail is sneaky AH! First seven miles you’re like, “this is easy!” Then you hit a steady hill incline for the last two miles. I actually thought I was going to die. Great hike! Lots of exposed areas, so bring sunscreen, glasses, and maybe a hat.

SO WINDY!! The wind literally almost blew me over a few times, extremely pretty hike even though I went in the early morning when it was cold and foggy. For the first part of the hike there’s a paved road and then it splits into two trails and I went down the unpaved trail, which was pretty busy!

So thankful to have this app as we likely would have been lost without it. After crossing the road to get near the lake it’s a bit confusing to tell where to go but you can view the lake through the trees and get to it. The trail had lots of poison ivy around it though. The end part of the loop (after Karan trail) isn’t as pretty so if you’re doing this more for pretty nature I would skip that part and cut in there as it wasn’t pretty in that part and an extra mile or two.

Trees kept their social distance, hugging them became nearly impossible, when will this hell be over?!?!

Very manageable, easily accessible hike. You can add more or less by branching into some of the connected trails which makes it a nice staple hike to come back to.

Seaview and back on quarry/lower/upper big spring/seaview. All in all about 5.7 or so miles. Beautiful views on seaview.

Really amazing views of both sides of the bay even early on in the trail. It’s mostly downhill in the latter half, and a harder hike on the way out, especially since this fire access rose is rather gravelly. Views were awesome, but there’s no need to do this whole trail it you want an easier hike- go to the bench with a bay side view that’s up on a hill facing the bay, and you’ve got one of the best views with an easier hike out. This trail is very wide since it’s a fire access road, so plenty of room the whole way. Took me about 2.5 hours to do the whole thing, including a slight extension past the end of the trail to get to the bathrooms.

Sat late morming hike, great scenic views of the Bay and Lafayette reservoir, mild foot traffic and great workout with the moderately steep hills.

Nice trail. We started at the bottom instead of the top, and made it a loop.

Beautiful. Great views. Very muddy in certain sections.
