Hilly but the view is nice. The end of the trail is a little overgrown but it’s not too bad.

Got here when the park was opening and there was a thick marine layer. Hiked the scenic trail and could sort of see the ocean through the haze. On the overlook trail encountered one rattlesnake in trail who peacefully moved off trail with no aggression.

Breathtaking views for a fairly easy hike!

Definitely a must do! We went off trail and hiked up a separate mountain more towards the coastal side. Worth it for the views. Majority of it Not too difficult

Beautiful views uphill hike then downhill to big Sycamore Canyon Trail. It was a spectacular day but a bit warm there is no shade bring water. There is a picnic table if you hike up the trail. The ocean was so beautiful not too many birds but a few rattlesnakes and bicyclists. Overall very very nice. Park at Sycamore Canyon Campground $12 per day $11 if you’re a senior or three dollars an hour.

A nice trail for running. There are a lot of mountain bikers but the trails are wide enough to allow passing. Option to keep going on fire road if you want to do more miles.

A nice easy hike with views of the ocean and many varieties of wildflowers. A little more than half of the hike is on service roads. An abundance of rabbits and California Ground Squirrels (apparently few predators). We also saw a lot of quail.

Beautiful ocean views! We were lucky enough to spot a whale while on the scenic lookout. Trails are gradual and wide on main parts, they get skinny and steeper on the lookouts. Bathrooms at trail head, parking is limited when busy. $12 a day or $3 an hour per vehicle for parking.

Short hike with a beautiful view of the coast line. There is pretty heavy mountain bike traffic on the main road.

Options for a little longer home or shorter. A slight challenge but a beautiful view.

Nice, easy hike with ocean views. My 7 year old was able to do the trail with no problems.

Such a lovely introduction into my first day of camping at Point Mugu! Even with the clouds blanketing a majority of this hike, the trail itself (at least the visible pieces) were beautiful and what I could make out below from above was also stunning. I didn't loop it as the final decline looked steep and was thick with clouds. Definitely again!

Nice place to hike. Scenic trail is single track and a bit steep in parts, but definitely do-able for most. Overlook trail to top is mostly fire road. Pay to park is $12 all day or $3 an hour at pay machine.

Great trail to run and hike. I suggest to bring at least 1-2 water bottles per person. Great views on the ocean too. The sad thing is that no dogs are allowed on this fun hike. Did this hike in around an hour. There’s also a lot of lizards so be careful where you’re stepping especially when you’re doing a running hike. Also check the weather and wind for some clear days. It’s very kid friendly too. But be careful since the peak is a little steep and narrow. It’s a little overgrown too in the beginning. Parking has to be payed too.

Great hike and the views are incredible. Definitely check the wind conditions before you drive out here. The wind was very strong while we hiked, which was okay for us adults but would have been too strong for kids.

Huffed and puffed my way to the top, thought it was a bit steep but that could just be my age. A lot of people coming and going. The view from the top was beautiful, well worth the huffing and puffing.

Really gently climb to a beautiful overlook of the Pacific. Not only is it suitable for beginners, it's suitable for babies! I hiked the whole thing with a sleeping 6 month old strapped to my chest. This was a fun, relaxing little hike which culminates in a stunning view of the coast line. The incline might be a bit steep for those with limited mobility.

I absolutely loved this hike. The incline wasn't too hard, and there were incredible views of Sycamore Cove Beach, PCH, and the Pacific Ocean on the Scenic Trail. There is also a little ridge trail you can go on to for an even better view! I highly recommend it. The Overlook Trail was also very nice and had great views of Sycamore Canyon.

This is another excellent beginner type trail with easy accessibility. If you run the loop starting with "scenic trail", the most difficult portion will be the first couple hundred yards. The overlook is pretty nice and is just northwest of the giant sandhill dune thing that people like to climb. Once you take in the sights, its a simple downhill trek back to the car or another trail. I suggest running "overlook trail" to second intersection rather than that first one depicted on the map. You will gain a few hundred more feet. At that second intersection, go just down the hill and back to the fire road at the bottom. It makes the trail a bit more "entertaining" with out being too difficult, even for a beginner. I will go 4 stars on this one. Sadly, aside from the overlook, there isn't a lot to see here. This whole area was burned a few years back and plants/wildlife are slowly returning but far from 100%. But its easy to get to and its a fun fairly easy trail for the beginner. If you are experienced, just turn up your speed and/or extend your distance.

This was a beautiful hike. It was on the easy side, with very minimal rough terrain. Towards the end you had the option to take a steeper route to an overlook point or an easier route to a lower overlook point. Having our three year old with us, my husband and I chose the easier of the two options. It did not disappoint with its breathtaking views.
