Santiago Canyon and Modjeska Grade is a 16 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Foothill Ranch, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, bird watching, and mountain biking and is accessible year-round.
Moderate difficulty trail on hard gravel & dirt with nice views of hills and canyons and some city views. Very little trees and birds mostly chaparral bushes.
This was a nice long hike. We started early to beat the heat but by noon it was hot! Through out the hike we were dodging the speeding bikes going by and nearly got run over a few times. The trail also has you walk along Santiago Canyon rode as well as Trabuco road (at the end) which was very dangerous. I don’t recommend this one.
