This is a beautiful short trail. It took me 30 mins to get to the top on my first time Hiking here. It’s a moderate hiking trail. Beautiful scenic views of the bay.

This trail is toughhhh! I would rate it hard, not moderate, given the amount of very steep climbs and slippery, rocky steep downhill. That said, it was a beautiful loop with stellar views at the tippy top. Wildflowers still in bloom among the dry grass. On a clear day, you can see all the way to San Francisco at the top. Sunscreen a must on this little shade trail.

The full loop is open. Trail is shared with many bikers. Plenty of parking along the residential streets. I ran clockwise because I didn’t want to run down the super steep side (Ohlone trail). There’s a little shade at the beginning, but after the first few miles, it’s mostly exposed. The peaks have gorgeous views of the golden hills, south San Jose, and Sierra Azul in the distance. The Rocky Ridge and Mine trail portions were so rocky! Watch your step when running downhill. A ton of foxtails, would not recommend bringing your furry friend during this time unless you’re willing to do a very thorough brush afterward.

It's a good place for beginners, a lot of foot traffic. Great scenery and not much of a challenge. A few hills and a lot of views

dog caught ticks, narrow trail at some parts, decent inclines, variety of scenery and views, overgrowth blocking some parts of the trail.

Great trail! Mix of hikers/runners/walkers and bikers - all seem pretty friendly and respectful of others. Be careful - of rattlesnakes - I saw one the other day...otherwise it’s a nice/steep climb with amazing views!

Hiked counterclockwise and added Vista loop. ~9 miles with hiking time just over 3 hours. Mostly exposed. Plenty of parking in nearby neighborhood.

Easy access from town and then you feel like you’re far away from the crowds. I loved all the vistas on the trail. You share with other hikers and mountain bikers and everyone was really friendly and on best trail and covid-19 etiquette!

most of the trail is too narrow. my dog picked up at least 10 ticks in 3 hours there. other than that a good workout. not crowded and friendly people.

as of feb 1st you cant complete the loop - rocky ridge trail is closed for the season due to "serpentine activity".

Haven’t been hiking in awhile, this trial definitely ignited my glutes and thighs. Some what easy to follow...(also due to me forgetting initial trail name I wanted to stay on but ended up exploring). Saw some wild turkeys. Muddy in spots.

Nice, moderately difficult gravel trail with some really muddy parts (after the recent rains here in San Jose). Good views of the city and surrounding hills and mountains, but not much in the way of wildlife (did see lots of deer footprints in the mud though) and no water features.

It's okay, not too much going on. Paths can get narrow and a lot of bikers. not that great for running, but still decent.
