Hiking

Not as expected, more for horses than humans, very sandy trail hard to walk in. There are better hiking trails along the river been awhile since I've been here. level and flat but very sandy and hard walking. I would not recommend for hiking. Another area just up Sandia Creek Rd turns out is more for hiking. Live and let learn but if you arrive at a parking lot that has a section for horse trailers, not the best for walking/hiking

Great hike… just the map led us some weird way and it got a little crowded after you cross the river a few times. If you like to follow CDC and county public health recommendations I would hold off until masks are no longer needed. There is a sign that will tell you to hook a right at some point. FOLLOW THE SIGNS not All Trails

HikingGreat!

Beautiful trail hike along the river and under the shades of trees most of the time you can hear the flowing sound of the river so restful to the ears , lots of friendly people hiking , a lot of them with their dogs and some with their horses , you can go down to the quaint flowing river to wet your feet ,took us two different hikes to find the old car wreck lol, uphill climb to the look-out point ( almost ) took my breath away

I love this trail! Primarily used for horses . Many area's where you have to treck through water, but only up to your knees at most (it is Dec,so the rainy season hasn't hit just yet) Clear, clean, flowing water, plenty of shade and nice scenery. Very quiet, even on weekends. Definitely wear pants and boots. Lengthly trecks through sand, so prepare for that. Our dog had an absolute blast!

The reason I gave a five star is the trail by the second parking lot is fabulous:)! Water, rocks, shade and green by the river. Everything I love in hiking. But I parked in the first parking lot and thought I was on the right trail. Heavy sand and crossing over the water up to my shorts would have been fine if I had water shoes on. With all my mishaps I ended up with 11.45 miles.

Had a blast with the pup! Lots of water crossings and its nice cool and refreshing. most of the trail is sand so be prepared for the calves to get a workout.

This trail was okay. The first part of the trail was all sand and a lot of poison oak so be prepared for that. The portion of the trail along the river is so nice and beautiful. The further you go, you kind of head away from the river. There’s not really anything at the end except another trial. In my opinion it wasn’t really worth going to the end marked on AllTrails.

Great day hike, heavily trafficked, other than that it’s an easy day hike. Mostly flat. Bring swimming clothes. Lots of wildlife.

Went on a hike with small children, it was awesome! Bring some bathing suits and water shoes for the kiddos if you have them :)

We went here and hiked on Mother’s Day. The parking lot was open but enforcing social distancing, so every other space was blocked off. It is a fairly easy hike and very beautiful! We will definitely be going back to spend more time there!

I love this trail. Lots of fun smells. I like playing in the river with my humans. If you go during the week or during the off season there are less people :D

fun trail, but be ready for some water crossings depending on what time of year you go. one crossing was about 3 feet deep and about 50 feet wide. definitely will be doing this trail again.

Mostly flat, and mostly shaded. There are water crossings so be prepared to get wet - or take shoes off as I do!
