If you’re looking for over the river and through the woods this is the hike for you. It’s easy to get off trail here because the trails aren’t clearly marked but it’s worth the hike. Be prepared with a hand towel or extra socks because you do have to cross the river a few times, it’s shallow. Lots of dogs and family friendly. we got there at 8:30 and the main lot was full with cars waiting so we parked in a lot about a mile away and hiked up to the main trail head

Sandy trail, we found it a pain to navigate. You cannot make the loop unless you cross the water, we turned back. It's also disappointingly to be so close to the road. I think it's better suited to horses.

Nice trail. Beach type Sand made the trail a little more trickier to trek but my daughter enjoyed it

We were headed to the Santa Margarita River Trail, but it was closed so we wound up doing this one instead. I did not see much to recommend it at all. The beach sand is not a good hiking trail surface, the amount of horse crap on the trail was incredible, and the trail parallels a busy road for most of the way so there is a ton of trash and traffic noise.

Nice short trail. The trail is wide and maintained however the sand is similar to beach sand. Kids had a blast walking to the water crossing and playing in the water. Horses also use the trails we encountered several groups but we were all polite to each other and moved to the side. Dogs are allowed on a leash as well.

Always a favorite. Water crossings - wear appropriate gear. Signs are not clearly marked. Easy to get off trail. Dog friendly.

First to Review

Easy trail with the kids. Had fun trying to cross the river at several spots towards the top and would have kept going had we come prepared for as much water as we came across. not giving it full stars because of all the horse droppings and the beach like sand along most of the trail that filled our shoes.
