A quick trail that runs next to the San Dieguito river . Used for hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding with two sets of switch backs at the western side.

the GPS coordinates for the trailhead through Google Maps take you to a gated community. look for another access point.

Did this trail with a local RSF resident who showed me how you can go for much of the way on a "secret path" along the West Side of the river before eventually crossing through the river (literally!) over to the East Side as shown on the map. Great scenery, I liked this hike a lot.

We went all the way to Lake Hodges so further than shown here. Mostly flat but a few slight uphill portions, I recommend this hike.

This should be the second part of the Coast to Crest after the initial part from the coast.

10/10 would recommend for trail running. It’s super flat and there’s no traffic on week days. Even the climb at the end is relatively easy. For just a hike, however, it’s super boring, not much to look at and nothing but a view of a brown canyon at the top.

Decent trail. Too crowed on a Saturday morning. The end is not marked. Saw a big Coyote...
