Sandstone Peak is a 3 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Westlake Village, California that offers the chance to see wildlife and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and trail running. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

This is a pretty hike right now. Anything that can bloom is doing it in a big way. Probably won’t last once it starts to warm up. The couple of areas that used to have a little shade are gone. I did it in the morning before the marine layer burned off and it was perfect.

Pleasant hike. The landscape is different since the fire. You can see through to places that had been covered, really pretty. Although the shade due to growth is gone, it was cloudy today. Lots of aromatic Slender Tarweed adding to the experience.
