Good Ride clean bring water. No shade

Great walk for my dog and I, we just got home and we are exhausted. I can not wait to keep walking this trail until I reach seal beach.

Went on this trail starting off of orangethorpe. Takes you all the way down to seal beach. First time doing this and boy was it long! Ran into a swarm of bees so i’d say just be prepared for that but likely it wont always happen. Also i started off on the right side of the river and the city ended up locking one the gates so i had to go around and use a bridge to get to the other side so i would say start on the left side of the river.

This is a decent bike trail; however, the homeless are making it not as desirable. There was police activity in the homeless area on my return trip today. As of now, the last 1/2 mile is still closed for repairs. Once it dead ends with “Closed” signs, turn left (east) on Marina Drive towards Seal Beach. The first right turn (south) is First Street and it parallels the bike path. This street will take you down to the end of the bike path where the restaurant is located. Over the years, I’ve seen large sea turtles, a large (5-6’) snake, and a coyote (early morning hours). The homeless have never bothered me but occasionally the stench of urine is awful. As mentioned by someone else, the bike path gets flooded at high tide under the last bridge. You either need to pick up your bike and walk it over the rocks to pass the sea water or take the exit onto the bridge and cross PCH back to the path.

#sangabrielrivertrail #biketrial #sangabrielriverbiketrail I like to post my hiking trials, even if they are not that good. This is not good for walking, many homeless, dirty , dangerous. Ok for biking.

I ride this path frequently for a moderate workout. I start at Eldorado Park and head West towards Seal Beach. The path is smooth and relatively straight with mild headwinds heading West. I ride to the trails end, then head South the extra 1/2 mile to the Seal Beach Pier. I take a short break then head back but there are a couple of restaurants and a Cold Stone ice cream shop at the pier. There are lots of families with kids riding the path on weekends so if you have issues with that leave early (7:00 to 10:A.M.). During summer months, this is a main path for young non drivers to the beach all week. Week days between Noon and 3:00 P.M. are pretty clear for casual to advanced riders. Either early or mid-day is your best bet during weekdays. No worries for most during mid day as most advanced riders know how to avoid you. Good all around ride.

Nice easy ride with only slight elevation and a moderate headwind on the way out provided for a much easier ride on the return. not much in the way of scenery until you get close to the beach.

The San Gabriel portion of the trail is well paved, with minimal drastic elevation changes. It is great for long bike rides for endurance. Portions within six miles of Seal Beach provide fantastic views of the river, a factory, and nurseries. It is narrow, my guess is 8ish feet wide however, and can become busy.

Great bike ride for the family, and you can jump in the water at the end of the ride, or grab a bite to eat at the cafe. Always a good amount of wildlife to see

Parked my truck at regional park in Cerritos and rode my bike to the trail / riverbed. It is around 16 miles round trip to seal beach and back. Ate lunch at the rivers end cafe, not the best but pretty good. I have done this many a time and it is a very good workout.

Nice ride to the beach. Trail was crowded and it gets a little narrow in some parts when you reach the channel. But it was a treat because of the cooler weather at the beach. Enjoyed it and can't wait to ride it again.

Had a good time with family biking down the river. Just a straight paved road to the beach, it's pretty fun

Did this trail today. I actually started from my home which hits the trail at the Carson St entrance. So its about a mile less than the actual trailhead. It's a nice ride along the river/creek, whatever you want to call it. It gets wider towards the beach. It can get crowded depending what day and what time you go. The beach at the end is nice, good place for a break. Also there is River's End cafe/restaurant if you want to grab some food. Ate there once, pretty good. Lots of cyclist go there. All in all, good workout.
