The San Fernando Road Bike Path passes through the small city of San Fernando along the active metrolink tracks, roughly paralleling San Fernando Blvd. The trail connects residential neighborhoods to the commercial uses along San Fernando and parks in addition to the San Fernando Sylmar light rail station. The trail received the 1998 Project of the Year award from the Southern California Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA). The entire bikeway within the city is fully landscaped and lighted. You may take the metrolink and travel up to Lancaster, Santa Clarita, Sunland, Burbank, Glendale, or downtown Los Angeles. Straight line all the way in the middle of the industrial area. If you want to jog whiting any distractions, this route may be good.

This is a paved bike path, not a hiking trail. It runs along the train tracks and street.
