The loop before the creek is over crowded!!! Once you get your feet wet and get to the other side, it’s quiet and peaceful!! Very steep for about 2 miles or so. Great workout!!! Side note: watch out for bags of poop that irresponsible dog people leave all over the place.

Be prepared for high water. It's a easy hike in terms of a smooth trail but it's really steep mile 1.5-3

Easy trail, great for trail running. Made it around the loop in 45 min with stoping and taking pics. If we hadn’t taken our time it would have easily been a 30 min walk/hike tops. Definitely recommend if you want to get a fast nature walk & work out in.

Did this with 5 little ones 8 months to 9 years and a grandma. Didn't see much water and the hill after the crossing was steep. The kids made it with hardly any complaining. bring LOTS of water.

we weren't able to do the whole trail exactly because the river was Way too high & fast (even without our pups with us). a lil muddy, had to wade through & around the edge of a few creek overflows to get back to actual trail (it Has been raining quite a bit the last few weeks). still, a very nice hike, particularly when neither of us had done so in quite a while. good practice trail if you want to get back into hiking (enough challenge to make it fun but not overly taxing)

The trails here are weaving and winding and you can almost take any trail here anywhere you want and it'll be pretty easy to find your way back to wherever you parked. I didn't go super far because I had my niece but it was a nice walk with some hills and some views.

I was lucky enough to reach the creek when someone who knew a safer place to cross although it required going through thick wooded area and crossed over a fallen tree.

River crossing was a little wet today, but not too bad. Trail was in great shape.

After the river crossing, the road was steep and gravelly (very washed out from the recent rain and I had to walk part of it). Great view of South Fortuna peak and the hikers attempting the stairway to heaven trail to the top (no bikes here). Also descended South Trail to some picnic grounds and up for the loop (this was very technical and fun but exhausting). Then descended back down hill (whoopee!) toward the river crossing and to the visitor center.
