This was a great trail to get the lungs pumping. Unfortunately in this area, foggy conditions can prevent you from being able to take in the potentially amazing views. Not many people up there so it was great for some quiet time alone with nature. The trail’s rocks/gravel can be a bit slippery at times! My husband and I both had a few close calls where we almost fell on the way back down. I would hike it again but would aim for a day where there isn’t much fog (hard to find those days around here!)

Beautiful trail with lovely wild flowers. The trail is overgrown in sections and the entry is pretty steep.

A lot of poison oak along the trail on the north slope. Still very wet and muddy. Banana slugs and ferns along the drainage.

straight up hill for 2 miles, then up and down hills til the end. it was pretty rocky for the first part of the trail but nice gravel the last two miles. no shade and windy at the top. what an amazing hike!! I love this trail.

Starts off on a good incline, great workout. Would recommend appropriate footwear or you’ll feel every rock as you get to the summit. Amazing views of The Bay and SF on a clear day.

Interesting mix of grass, mud, and gravel trails. Very intense inclines, which are even more difficult on return trip as declines. Nice enough views next to the city.

Don’t go on this hike without hiking poles as climb is pretty steep and on return you will need them for sure.

I agree with Lincoln. I was on a time crunch so I only made it up to the summit which was straight up the mountain, but once you’re up there, it’s totally worth it. Bring water as the initial ascent is fairly steep, but once you’re at the summit you walk around at the top and enjoy the amazing views of the city, ocean, full 360 panorama awesomeness.

Good, quick hike right outside of San Francisco (South SF). Probably the quickest way up to the top to Mt. Bruno Ridge trail from the very bottom; the first third of the trail is straight up the hill. Probably a difficult rating for the first third, but its over quickly so the overall trail is fairly moderate.
