Hike to the summit of San Bruno Mountain (1,314 feet). Enjoy picturesque views of the entire Bay Area from the top. Take the Summit Loop trail for the most gradual way to the summit.

I don’t know why I loved this hike so much. Maybe it’s the wildflower varieties. Maybe it’s reaching the summit with all the radio towers which I see every day. Took the summit trail, a straightforward hike to the top with moderate inclines and a few Rocky portions here and there. No shade so bring sunscreen! There’s one bench on this trail so savor it when you reach it! fEvery time I drive 101 and 280 I see those towers and remember my hike

Just want to mention the southwest “trailhead” on Royce Way. Street parking. Trail starts with humble wooden stumps, winding behind houses, but quickly gains elevation. Trail steep and slippery due to loose dirt and the angle, but otherwise in great condition. Meets the main loop once on top. Excellent view.

There are a lot of poison oak as the others said, but as long as you stay on track you’ll be fine. Mostly unshaded, but the top was breezy and nice. Bring a light windbreaker

Ran this with much ease. The incline is pretty gradual so it wasn’t much challenge reaching elevation. Some parts of the trail were overgrown so I recommend wearing/bringing pants. Also bring a windbreaker or a light jacket if you plan on hanging out near the top, as it may get windy and chilly there (was for me).

Bring good walking shoes,be careful of poison oak and watch your steps because of rocks,so you won’t twist your ankles.

The trail of poison oak has been cleaned up! Excellent easy trail. Great for getting the blood going! If your are not a fan of wind, this might not be for you. Bring a jacket and just enjoy the fact that you are alive! It’s a beautiful world out there! Take time to enjoy this mountain and it’s beauty. A quick escape from SF.

I caught out after dark going the wrong way on this mountain. Now I always carry a headlamp

Quick and easy trail to feel like you’re “getting out of the city”. Great panoramic views at the top. A lot of shaded areas along the route. The peak is typically windy, cold and foggy so bring a jacket with you. Parking is $6.

Great easy going hike right outside the city. Parking 6dollars.

I won’t recommend this trail until they clean the poison oak. You must wear LONG pants and LONG SLEEVES T-shirt on this trail. Otherwise, the plants blocking the trail are going to scratch your skin :( As they charge for parking, I am quite disappointed that the trail lacks of basic maintenance.

Pretty nice! Fairly easy hike with some great views. I’d recommend wearing long pants as the brush is tight to the path in some places. Lots of interesting wildflowers and a fair amount of wildlife (birds, rabbits). $6 to get in $6.25 with credit card).

Heard a hiss in the bush while on Eucalyptus trail. Did not stick around to investigate. I’m assuming big kitty. Otherwise a lovely experience. I would return.
